Job Functions

¡¡¡¡Essential Functions

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Coordinates and manages design activities related to electrical and extra low voltage systems, monitors and reviews designers¡¯

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Review design, technical support, expedite and coordinate design works, in accordance with schedules, and international and local design standards and specific project standards.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Carry out the necessary design coordination with other design disciplines and other design teams.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Verify and monitor and expedite design activities, attend design coordination meetings, and design review meetings.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Contribute to value engineering workshops, constructability studies and analysis, and related cost and time comparisons.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Develops tender instructions and prepares tender analysis spreadsheets, checklists and recommendations for the selection of electrical and ELV subcontractor selections

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Oversee design quality, design interfacing and check on completeness of tender documentation.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Conduct detailed evaluation of drawings and supporting calculations to ensure all design parameters have been considered and due attention has been given to local special or unique design conditions.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ onduct detailed review of tender documentation for each A/E set of tender documents for completeness and rationalization of interfacing.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Assists to prepare and or review cost estimates, budget updates, tender documentation, contract documentation, submittals, shop drawings and construction management documentation; assists to evaluate construction progress payments and change orders related to electrical trade.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Coordinates and manages pre-construction and construction activities related to electrical and extra low voltage systems, monitors and reviews contractors' work .

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Direct and coordinate construction works in accordance with schedule requirements.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Completely understand drawings, specifications, schedules and budgets for the works under construction.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Assist if required, with tender analysis and the award process of construction contracts.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ eview masterwork method statements, sequence and time schedules for each electrical services.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Review contractor¡¯s program for construction including procedures, layout, equipment, manpower requirements and coordination with other contractors.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Expedite and monitor the progress of the contractor, update progress schedules, and advise the Construction and/or MEP Manager of any slippage, problems and potential delays to the electrical works. Advise corrective action to be taken.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Expedite and monitor contractor¡¯s compliance with safety programs and quality assurance/quality control procedures.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Ensure preparation and submission of daily reports and other records as required by the Site Management Plan.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Review and comment on contractor¡¯s applications for payment in respect of works.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Attend weekly construction coordination meetings.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Assists to maintain and monitor the progress of punchlist, control documentation and historical data regarding construction related to electrical trade.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Performs other duties as assigned by the Project Officer, Project Manager and/or the Senior Construction Manager.

Requirements

¡¡¡¡Essential Physical Abilities

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Ability to visually inspect buildings.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Ability to climb up and down stairs, ride temporary construction hoists, and perform emergency procedures.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Ability to detect emergency alarms - auditory and/or visual.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Ability to meet highest attendance requirements. Weekend and overtime attendance will be required.

Essential Knowledge and Skills

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Ability to read and interpret detailed design and construction drawings and specifications plus communicate with the team professionals.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Ability to determine time, place and sequence of operations or action to be taken on the basis of analysis of data; execute and/or report on events.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Ability to mediate disputes and interpret the intent of the contract documents.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Maintains calm demeanor in emergency situations.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Applies principles of rational systems to solve practical problems and deals with a variety of concrete variables in situations
where only limited standardization exists.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic or schedule forms.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Calculates surfaces, volumes, weights and measures.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Reads and interprets manuals, research/instructional reports, safety rules, and methods plus procedures in drawing and layout work.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Effectively bilingual, ability to read, write and communicate in both English and Chinese.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Excellent computer spreadsheet and word processing skills.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Responsible, possess initiative, able to work overtime when work requires, meticulous, diligent and healthy.


¡¡¡¡Experience

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Ten years experience as a Senior Electrical Engineer or Electrical Manager in a reputable engineering or construction firm, with construction management experience.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Good and solid experience in electrical systems¡¯ construction and reasonably good working knowledge in extra low voltage and fire alarm systems. Well versed in local construction practice and preferably some knowledge in international construction practice.

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Experienced in high rise commercial and residential buildings¡¯ construction.


¡¡¡¡Education

¡¡¡¡¡¤ Bachelor¡¯s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
